How To Be Beautiful

ESPECIALLY in college you should be happy with your looks. I am sorry to say, but unless you plan on becoming a fitness expert when you’re 30 (which is probably what some of you are trying to trick yourselves into thinking) you are currently in your prime when it comes to looks. You should never think to yourself, “I can’t go out tonight because I don’t look good,” or “I am too fat today,” or “my noise is too big, no boy will ever look at me.” Rubbish, you’re beautiful!
The first step to realizing you’re beautiful is to not get sucked into the trap of comparing yourself to others. It’s a nasty cycle that doesn’t do anyone any good. The problem is when you see that woman who is just “perfect” you are just looking for the flaws that you think you have on her…she isn’t going to have those, only you do! But, what you don’t notice are the ones that she has. Her fingers are chubby AND her toes are webbed ~ ewe. I bet you never saw that before did you? But, there are is that perfect being out there who has seemingly no physical flaws what so ever, but no worries, she is mean.
It doesn’t matter what you weight, how far your nose expands across your face, or if your arms come to your knees, you’re beautiful! Do not concentrate on features that may seem less appealing. The trick is to accentuate the parts of your body that you love. If you’ve got great hair, awesome legs, or beautiful eyes think about those parts of your body and make them your centerpiece.  You already look good, you just need a little focal adjustment plus a dash of attitude and voila! You’ll be looking and feeling gorgeous in no time.

College Fashion

"I love college," Asher Roth and I share the same sentiments but for completely different reasons. College! It's where things are happening, where people are making a difference in the world, and they look great doing it. Besides the streets of downtown Tokyo, a large college campus might be the closest you will ever get to a fashion runway. It is an eclectic collection of people and their interpretation of style mixed with what their opinion of what looks good. Sometimes it is a disaster, but most times it's interesting, and even sometimes - looks amazing.
Do you ever see someone walk by and think, "Wow, she looks good…" You can't break down every element of her outfit, where she got the dress, leggings, the coat, scarf or boots. You don't know what brand her hand bag is, all you know is it looks great on - her. But, it doesn't have to be just her! She's got something that a lot of us aren't trained to see. It’s a little something called style. Style is a completely different breed all its own, but oddly enough it is the most important.
Style VS. Fashion is one of those debates that has lasted centuries and will continue. In layman terms fashion is for example, the color yellow being what’s hot. You being the smart consumer you are, you know that yellow doesn’t match your pale skin and it actually washes your face out making you look dead. So, to adhere to the demands that fashion requires of you, you make a style move. You throw together an outfit that matches your skin tone and then you throw on a yellow belt. Nice move. That’s exactly what style is. It’s realizing what looks good on you, what you like, and having the knowledge of what everyone else says is “in” (aka fashion).
Think it over… maybe you need to do some reevaluating. Is everything in your closet fashionable, but not stylish? Or is everything stylish but not fashionable? Find your medium, and that’s the first step toward someone looking at you and thinking, “Wow, she looks good.”
